Sustainable Development Goals

In September 2015, the UN adopted its 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) - a set of global goals to be reached by 2030. The ambition is to create a safe and sustainable future for everyone, especially for the less privileged.

The SDGs underline the role that business has to play in creating a more sustainable society. The long list of SDGs illustrates both the urgency and the complexity of the issues the world faces. For many companies this represents a clear challenge – how to respond and demonstrate a contribution towards these issues, in a way that first and foremost helps to build a sustainable business. Aligning business strategy with the SDGs is not just about reducing risk, but also about finding opportunities to respond to challenges of global importance - by building competitive advantage through innovation.
