DNV GL accredited by the Aluminium Stewardship Initiative

DNV GL is accredited by the Aluminium Stewardship Initiative to act as a Conformity Assessment Body within the global aluminium sector, auditing against the Performance Standard and Chain of Custody Standards.

Certification to these standards recognises that companies are behaving responsibly in the production and transformation across the aluminium value chain. Many Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI) members already work with DNV GL as their certification or assurance partner for other standards and can combine other standards with the ASI standards.

"We are delighted to announce DNV GL as an ASI Accredited Audit Firm, following successful review of their application. The broad geographic scope of their accreditation provides ASI members with even more opportunity to apply for certification in a range of different operating countries. We look forward to working with DNV GL in their auditing activities over the coming months and years." says Dr Fiona Solomon, CEO, Aluminium Stewardship Initiative.

Jens Peter Høiseth, Regional Director, DNV GL - Business Assurance, said “We are pleased to be accredited by the Aluminium Stewardship Initiative and we are looking forward to supporting this and the aluminium value chain through partnering on ASI certification. It is important for the aluminium value chain to have a highly recognised and trusted global company, as is DNV GL, to help deliver audits across a wide range of countries for ASI members, many of which are already highly valued customers of DNV GL.”

Earlier in 2018 DNV GL announced that it had become the Technical Partner to ResponsibleSteel and is therefore well placed to certify metals value chain companies from mine to end products and is well placed to work with integrated or stand-alone metals and materials companies to support them on their sustainability journeys.
