We’re proud to share that we’ve one of the first in the UK to offer accredited audits to the recently updated ISO/IEC 27001:2022 standard.

When speaking about this new accreditation, the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) stated that DNV “…has demonstrated that it has the systems and processes in place to provide the competence and capability, including understanding of local requirements, to manage and issue accredited management systems certification in the country in which it is established and in any other country.”

The publication of this latest version of ISO/IEC 27001 serves as a reminder that all companies are increasingly exposed to information security risks. ISO/IEC 27001 is the internationally recognized information security management system (ISMS) standard which helps companies proactively manage and protect their information assets and to manage and mitigate security events. It also helps address regulatory compliance and meet customer requirements.

In summary, ISO/IEC 27001 helps organisations protect their information in terms of the following principles:

  • Confidentiality ensures that information is accessible only to those authorized to have access.
  • Integrity safeguards the accuracy and completeness of information and processing methods.
  • Availability ensures that authorized users have access to information and associated assets when required.
  • Technical protection against computer fraud.

DNV’s Area Manager, UK Certification Division, Andy Wilson states: “We’re delighted to announce that our existing UKAS accreditation has now been updated to cover ISO/IEC 27001:2022. The security of our clients data and their customers data, both online and offline, is more important than ever. A recent study by the Economist, focused on executive level interviews, found that 84% of organisation has suffered from data theft or loss in the past two years. It’s timely then that this UKAS accreditation underlines our continued drive to offer a forward-looking suite of certification solutions to our global client base.”
