DNV expands its cybersecurity training portfolio to address the growing competence gap
As Europe continues to ramp up its defences against growing cybersecurity threats, DNV launches a comprehensive suite of competence-based cybersecurity and business continuity courses. Designed to help organisations meet regulatory requirements, enhance professional skills and capabilities, and foster a culture of digital resilience, this new suite of trainings provides a robust foundation for navigating today’s evolving landscape.
Cybersecurity has become a strategic priority for all industries and organisations across Europe. From the EU Cybersecurity Strategy to the NIS2 Directive, policymakers are calling for stronger defence mechanisms, coordinated responses and greater competence. The European Commission estimates that there is currently a shortage of more than 300,000 cybersecurity professionals in the job market, leaving organisations exposed to operational, financial and reputational risks.
Cybersecurity is no longer matter for just specialists – it has become a cornerstone of good governance and risk management, helping to develop the competence within organisations and businesses that is required to prevent and respond to digital threats.
In this context, DNV is expanding its global training offering with a new portfolio of cybersecurity and business continuity courses. This expansion follows the acquisition of an information and cybersecurity training provider in the Netherlands, that allows DNV to combine its business assurance expertise with the practical experience of high-quality trainers recognised by ISACA and SECO Institute – a DNV Company. This newly acquired portfolio empowers organisations to leverage its people, processes, and technology to build and develop a secure foundation when it comes to cybersecurity competence.
The expanded training suite includes courses in Information Security, IT- and AI-Security, Business Continuity, Crisis Management, Ethical Hacking, Secure Programming, Privacy & Data Protection, and The Human Factor. Each course is designed to translate complex cybersecurity principles into actionable skills, enabling professionals at all levels – from executives and CISOs, to IT teams and everyday users – to identify vulnerabilities, ensure compliance, respond effectively to incidents and advance personal career tracks.
Additionally, our new suite of courses align with the goals of the European Cybersecurity Skills Framework (ECSF) and the Digital Europe Programme, which both emphasise practical training and certified competence as key levers to strengthen Europe’s digital sovereignty.
DNV’s trainers bring real-world experience from across industries, ensuring that participants not only understand the theory but can also apply it to their specific contexts. Simulations, case studies. and scenario-based exercises help translate knowledge into operational resilience, a crucial aspect for complying with NIS2 and other emerging regulatory frameworks.
