International+schemes

To facilitate free trade and ensure the safety of certain products, several countries have developed a series of standards, or ”international schemes” as they are called. Due to our global presence, DNV delivers certification according to international schemes all over the world.

Purpose

Requirements are set forth in various international schemes that replace individual country safety standards. The international schemes apply to products manufactured within but also exported to various countries.

International schemes ensure the product can move freely throughout different countries, and indicate to customers that the product meets minimum safety standards and therefore has a minimum level of quality.

Benefits

DNV offers certification worldwide, and holds a wide range of national accreditations. With our global network of local resources, we can provide you with the certification most suitable to your needs, type of business, and company location.

International schemes are mandatory for a wide range of products sold within or exported to various countries.

If you wish to sell your products within certain countries, the product in question must comply with the international schemes. This also applies if you are a manufacturer that exports products.

The international schemes replace individual country standards as they relate principally to the safety of these products. Read on for more information about IECEx, an international scheme applicable to a wide range of products sold within or exported to various countries.
