50 LNG terminals and counting

With its long tradition of serving the LNG transportation industry, DNV has extended its services to encompass the liquefaction and regasification terminals in the LNG chain.

The LNG industry has embarked on a period of rapid growth. Nations importing hydrocarbons are increasing their demand for cleaner and more efficient hydrocarbon sources, with natural gas as a logical preference.
To improve their security of supply, nations are seeking gas supplies from diversified sources and LNG supplies are increasingly the preferred choice for meeting such demand.

The increase in demand and historically high prices have accelerated plans for expanding existing and new liquefaction terminals. On the demand side, Europe is witnessing that nearly every country with a coastline has plans to either expand its existing regasification terminals or build new ones. Nations in Asia and the Americas have similar aspirations.

All the world’s continents
During the past two years, DNV has provided technical and business advisory services to over 50 LNG terminal projects in various stages from inception through to operation. These LNG terminals are located on all the world’s continents with the exception of Antarctica.

DNV provides impartial and unbiased technical and commercial expert opinions to assist clients in making decisions regarding their LNG solutions. DNV has developed a reputation as a world-leading independent advisor for assisting LNG-terminal project sponsors with their LNG projects.
