DNV signs agreement with Lockheed Martin

WASHINGTON: Det Norske Veritas (DNV) today signed a Letter of Intent with Lockheed Martin for increased involvement in the F-35 Lightning II (JSF) Program. This agreement makes DNV a significant Norwegian player in the F-35 program.

The F-35 program is one of the largest and most complex global enterprises envisioned in the world today. Its complexity and challenges pertain not only to the building of thousands of aircraft, but also to the affordable sustainment of the systems relating to these around the world.

DNV has been identified as a potential industry partner for Risk Management Services through the
F-35 project.

DNV is also offering its expertise in Information Quality Management (IQM) services to help the F-35 program safeguard its worldwide information assets. The F-35 is a global program that will be based on the exchange and sharing of highly sophisticated information throughout the industry and customer base. Trustworthy and correct information is crucial to all aspects of the system.

Risk management expertise
“Our extensive risk management expertise is considered a valuable asset for this project, and we are dedicated to this challenging task,” said DNV’s CEO Henrik O. Madsen at the signing ceremony

More than 3,000 F-35s

The corporation reported 2005 sales of USD 37.2 billion.
