We are currently seeking an experienced Senior HR Generalist supporting our DNV Columbus office, located in Dublin, Ohio, with over 100 employees, as well as other smaller locations across multiple business lines. This position will contribute to the development and accomplishment of the organization-wide business plans, goals, and objectives by serving as an HR Business Partner to management on issues, such as workforce planning, performance management, employee relations/recognition, etc. This position supervises an HR Assistant/Payroll Administrator and reports to the Head of U.S. HR Shared Services located at our DNV Houston office.
• Provide coaching, advice, and guidance on matters such as policies, employment law, employee relations, etc.
• Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (coaching, counseling, career development, and disciplinary actions).
• Research and analyze various types of data
• Coordinate and administer the annual salary adjustment process
• Coordinate DNV’s global, divisional, and departmental classroom and web course training
• Conduct training on HR related topics such as harassment awareness, recruiting, diversity, and others
• Coach, advise, or resolve a wide range of personnel issues including employee complaints, disciplinary matters, hiring decisions, etc.
• Perform inquiries and investigations as needed or directed
• Prepare various communications and documents related to hiring, separation, termination, policies, disciplinary issues, reports, business correspondence, employment verification, and other
• Facilitate new hire on-boarding process including communications with new hires after acceptance of offer, handle relocation process and issues, conduct HR orientation, and evaluate and refine overall integration process and programs
• Lead local recruitment and interviewing plan
• Performs other related duties and special projects as required and assigned
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, or related area, or equivalent in experience
• 6 or more years Human Resources Generalist experience
• Knowledge of local, state, federal employment laws and HR principles and practices
• Excellent knowledge in leading projects and implementing new initiatives
• Strong business acumen
• Experience in an international organization and familiarity with international employee/assignee issues strongly desirable
• Experience in all facets of the recruitment process preferred
• Must be computer literate with strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite of applications, especially Excel for data analysis, Word for report writing, Outlook for communication and time management, and PowerPoint for presentation and training
• Ability to objectively walk employees and managers through complex, difficult, and emotional issues
• Excellent communication / interpersonal skills and a strong customer service focus
• Must be able to present to small groups
• Great organizational skills and attention to detail
• Exemplary ethics and dedication to professionalism and quality
• Must be able to handle confidential material and comply with privacy concerns and regulation
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed
