[21/08/2006] Hybrid risers for Technip
Technip was contracted by Petrobras to carry out the engineering, procurement, construction and installation of the export riser linking the DNV-classed P-52 semi-submersible floating production unit (FPU) with PRA-1, a fixed platform. Technip appointed DNV for third-party verification of the detailed design and pre-commissioning certification, according to Brazilian regulations, of the riser and the flowline.

[21/08/2006] World’s first LNG floating storage and re-gasification conversion to DNV Class
For the first time in history, a liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier is to be converted into an LNG storage and re-gasification unit (FSRU). The conversion project will be carried out to DNV class rules for offshore gas terminals and international standards.

[21/08/2006] First FPSO in the Gulf of Mexico to DNV class
New boundaries will soon be passed in the Gulf of Mexico. The 360,000 dwt tanker Berge Enterprise is at the moment being converted in Singapore and is scheduled to start production at the Ku-Maloob-Zaap field offshore Mexico in the first quarter 2007. This will be the first FPSO in the Gulf of Mexico and one of the largest globally. The vessel is classed by DNV.
