Environmental Due Diligence Audit (EDDA)

All industrial sites have their own environmental history that can make property transactions risky. We work with you to identify costs related to environmental liabilities by thoroughly and systematically carrying out a comprehensive environmental site assessment.

DNV Consulting has extensive experience in environmental due diligence audits (EDDA) of industrial properties worldwide.

Through our EDDA service DNV Consulting identifies:

  • Potential and suspected sources of environmental contamination on the property and in adjoining and nearby areas
  • Environmental liabilities and the needs for improvements or mitigation
  • Economic consequences related to improvements or mitigation

DNV has prepared procedures for the performance of the environmental due diligence audit based on the international standards ASTM E-1527/1528. A checklist is used to ensure that the work is efficient and systematic.

An environmental due diligence audit includes:

  • Geological conditions (climate, topography, hydrogeology)
  • Historical use and current activities at the site (industry processes, discharges, waste, hazardous substances etc.)
  • Detected contamination on the property and in adjoining and nearby areas
  • Archaeological areas and environmental sensitive areas both on the property, and in adjoining and nearby areas
  • Accordance with and deviations from legislation and anticipated changes in laws or regulations
  • General evaluation of the environmental condition and other environmental issues such as; PCB, Asbestos, CFC
