Avinor: Manning requirements for Area Control Centres (ACC)
DNV Consulting assisted the Norwegian Air Traffic Management (ATM) Service Provider, Avinor, in a study of manning requirements for operative ACC positions prior to planned changes.
Critical issue: - With the planned higher level of automation of operative tasks, as well as the introduction of new sectors, Avinor considered it necessary to evaluate the work organisation for operative ACC tasks
Solutions: - We identified several possible models for the manning of ACC positions
- The pros and cons for each of these models were outlined and provided the basis for decision making
Value delivered: - This project resulted in providing a basis for making decisions regarding changes to the operative work organisation
- It emphasised a systematic approach to the evaluation of safety
